The key is connecting the parts of your car or motorcycle or aircraft or submarine or battlefield UAV in real-time. Now that is a real opportunity, connecting the entire ecosystem across the profit pool that was not connected before. Creating new analytics in real-time, that enables consumers get a greater insurance deal based on travel and driving patterns or service plans being reverse auctioned in real-time on the online engine by dealers in a 5 mile radius or insurance companies lowering the insurance on preventive maintenance for consumers or less parts being held in inventory because the system does all teh ABC, VED, FSN, SoS, et al analysis based on location and all this mapped as geospatial intelligence.

From farmers on the field with their tractors to cargo ships at sea to every consumer in their car on the road to a battlefield commander. Imagine the mobile marketplace where the IP is in the ability to connect IoT as mobile marketplaces!
